Stainless Steel Achieves Sunset Review Victory

Steptoe achieved a sunset review victory when the US International Trade Commission (ITC) voted that an antidumping duty order, in place since 1999, should be revoked.  Steptoe attorneys represented the US and UK members of the Outokumpu stainless steel family in the sunset review of the antidumping and countervailing duties orders against Stainless Steel Sheet and Strip from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. They argued that due to unique products and company characteristics, the ITC should give the United Kingdom a decumulated analysis (not lumped together with the other countries involved) and be released from its antidumping order. 

On a split vote, the ITC found no likely continuation or recurrence of injury by imports from the United Kingdom and France.
