New Matter Billing Intake Assistant
Responsibilities include entering client and matter data in various firm databases, filing and scanning of department’s paperwork, screening forms prior to action by other department members, routing documents in electronic and hard copy, and communicating with Firm attorneys and staff.  Successful candidate must be a detail-oriented problem solver, be able to meet daily deadlines while maintaining excellent organizational and interpersonal communications skills, and be a willing team player.  Administrative experience required, legal administrative experience a plus.  Database experience, a plus.  The candidate should have, at minimum, an undergraduate college degree.  Availability to work overtime.

Practice Support Coordinator
Responsibilities include scheduling training sessions and other meetings and departmental social events, assisting with travel arrangements, preparing expense reports, maintaining department records, and assisting with ad hoc staffing requests.  We are seeking a candidate who possesses a professional, pleasant demeanor, strong initiative, excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail, ability to work in numerous computer applications, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility to work overtime.  Candidate should be proficient in Word, Outlook, DeskSite, DTE, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.  Prefer large law firm experience and knowledge/ understanding of work generally performed by Paralegals is a plus.  A four year degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.

Business Development Coordinator
Responsibilities include providing marketing and business development support for designated practice groups.  This includes drafting proposals and RFP responses; preparing and posting client alerts, announcements and other updates to the website; updating and maintaining practice-specific marketing materials, attorney bios, and website content; preparing key directory ranking submissions; preparing monthly budget reports; assisting with the planning and execution of events; and updating and maintaining internal experience database.  Candidate must possess excellent organizational, attention to detail, and written and oral communication skills.  A bachelor’s degree and two to four years of professional experience, preferably within a law firm, required.

Security Engineer/Analyst
Responsibilities include the  management of the company’s security systems.  The Security Engineer/Analyst will help design, implement and support secure system architectures in a large ever changing environment.  This individual will monitor, analyze and optimize security alerts and events for all enterprise security infrastructure technologies.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent certification from an accredited technical training school or equivalent (4 years) experience in general MIS/computer support.  CISSP preferred, other security certifications a plus. 5+ years of experience with security systems and tools design and troubleshooting. Must be experienced with Networking, Security, Firewalls, Network and host-based IDS/IPS, Web security, Network Traffic Analysis, 3-5 years’ experience in security solutions using current monitoring technologies such as:  McAfee NitroSecurity SEIM, Cisco IPS appliances, Symantec EPS.

Attorney Services Clerk (Part-Time)
Responsibilities include maintaining department filing systems, assisting with correspondence, answering phones, and creating/updating charts and spread sheets.  Experience with various filing systems, attention to detail, strong spelling and grammar, and extensive windows-based computer experience desirable.  Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience a must; viDesktop experience preferred.  Seeking a high energy and competent individual with a “can do” attitude and excellent organizational skills to assist members of the Attorney Services and Legal Recruiting department.  Preference given to 2nd and 3rd year undergrad students from the DC area or students planning to stay in town during holidays and summers.  Fifteen to 20 hours a week is needed for position.  Please send cover letter and resume to legal_recruiting@steptoe.com.

Public Relations Coordinator
Responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of various public relations programs that advance the firm’s strategic goals and build name recognition in key practice areas, industries, and markets.  Work in collaboration with the firm’s public relations, business development, and marketing team colleagues.  Support and execute day-to-day PR activities firm wide, such as drafting and posting content for the news and publications sections of the firm’s website, tracking news coverage, maintaining editorial calendars, drafting press releases, source advisories, and nominations, placing by-lined articles, assisting with survey submissions, and managing the firm’s Twitter account.  Strong writing skills with superb attention to detail and the ability to proofread are essential.  Must have excellent time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments, and deliver solid results while working under pressure.  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.  Exhibits good judgment, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.  Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or similar discipline required, as well as 2-4 years of professional experience.  Knowledge of AP Stylebook preferred.  Knowledge of legal marketing a plus.

Hardware Analyst
Responsibilities include installing, upgrading, maintaining and troubleshooting desktop workstation and peripheral hardware using standardized procedures.  Training IT staff and end users on usage of hardware.  Tracking hardware and software inventory and developing and generating reports as needed for Firm management. Coordinating with hardware service vendors for repair and maintenance of all desktop workstation hardware and peripherals.  Coordinating with Network Engineers in inventory, maintenance and repairs for network infrastructure and server hardware.  Coordinating all video conferencing setups with all parties both internal and external. Maintain internal video conferencing equipment. Working with outside vendors to improve current systems. Performing routine system and user administration for Firm’s network operating systems, email systems, databases, fax servers and other networked systems and applications. Working with Systems Software Analysts to update workstation images to support various hardware configurations.  Drafting documentation on systems, policies and procedures for usage by technical and non-technical personnel. Impeccable communication and organizational skills: excellence in both written and oral communications whether in person, on the phone, or email; able to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines; able to organize self and work environment for efficiency and ready access to critical information.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent certification from an accredited technical training school or equivalent (4 years) experience in general MIS/computer support.  Two years of experience in desktop hardware and peripheral support and installation, as well as familiarity for hardware testing methods and software tools.

Senior Events Coordinator
Responsibilities include management, planning, and execution of firm-wide events, office events, and practice group events (both internal and external).  This includes webinars, seminars, receptions, special events and programs, including the firm’s participation in trade shows and conferences, and firm-wide retreats.  Key highlights of this position include management, planning, and execution of webinar events including promotion schedule and invitation, dry run and live event, and follow-up and analytics; creating save-the-dates and invitations, as well as coordinating RSVPs using the firm database(s); and also serving as the primary point person for internal events.  Four year degree in Marketing or Communications or related field required.
