Overview
Dr. Nicholas Skoulis has vast experience in both mammalian and ecotoxcity, which sets him apart as a lead consultant on both regulatory and litigation matters. He regularly works with a multitude of regulatory authorities such as the EPA – FIFRA & TSCA; Canada (PMRA & Health Canada) - Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA); European Union (EU) – Biocidal Product Directive (BPD), Biocidal Product Registration (BPR); Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
Nick has been working in toxicology professionally for more than 25 years with significant experience in testing and general support for registration and re-registration of pesticides and other company products under EPA and EU regulatory programs, supporting company applications and notices to the FDA concerning food contact, wood preservation, and the space and aeronautics products; designing and evaluating human clinical studies involving potential chemical exposures, designing, supervising, and reviewing toxicology test programs, and investigating a number of effects and endpoints on mammalian, aquatic and plant species.
As a complement to his work at Steptoe, Nick has been working with the FDA in designing a Maximal Usage study Trial (MUsT) in support of the Antimicrobial Consumer Monograph. He has also been working on improving the approach to environmental assessments by the EPA for antifouling paints in fresh and saltwater marinas.
