Overview
Mauricio Alvarez prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the field of life sciences. His work spans a wide range of technical areas, including biologics, cancer and infectious disease vaccines, cancer immunotherapy, nano-immunoparticle compositions, pharmaceutical formulations, antimicrobial products, and medical devices. He performs analyses relating to patentability and freedom-to-operate, as well as patent strategy and IP due diligence matters.
Mauricio holds a Ph.D. degree in immunology and microbiology. During his graduate career, Mauricio studied the interactions between macrophages and the pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans. His research received special recognition in the journal Nature Reviews Microbiology.
