On June 30, 2022, Law.com quoted Alan Cohn in a piece titled "Firms Accepting Cryptocurrency Persevere Amid Volatility.” The piece discusses how firms have been accepting cryptocurrency for payment to attract tech-forward clients. Firms are aware of the risks, however it is believed that the benefits will pay off in the long run. Through accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment, Steptoe is in a better position to understand clients' needs and legal concerns.
Cohn, on accepting crypto currency as payment said, “…we understand the [legal] challenges of our clients in safely and responsibly handling cryptocurrency, the regulatory issues that come along with it, and the technical and operational issues as well… We understand in a better and more intimate way the issues associated and gain a broader familiarity with the third-party providers that our clients may want to [associate with].”
