(June 3, 2021, London) — Steptoe & Johnson UK LLP is pleased to announce that Leigh Mallon has joined the firm as a partner in the London office, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2021. Mallon represents corporate clients and institutions in high-value, complex commercial litigation and international arbitration matters together with associated internal investigations. Mallon assists those same clients in managing their compliance risk advising on issues relating to antitrust, bribery and corruption, data protection and money laundering in both the M&A and crisis management context.
Mallon's commercial litigation work commonly involves commercial contract, fraud, information technology, construction, banking and financial disputes, as well as cross-border competition and antitrust law matters. He conducts arbitration proceedings under the rules of the leading international arbitration institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). Mallon frequently advises on the enforcement of arbitral awards in foreign jurisdictions and the New York Convention.
Mallon's regulatory work includes matters concerning white-collar crime and enforcement. He conducts special investigations, compliance audits and compliance monitoring work for national and multinational companies to assist in the detection and elimination of potentially unlawful conduct as well as evaluating the strength of company policies and procedures. Mallon advises and assists clients with respect to dawn raids by finance, competition and corruption regulators.
