Overview
For the second consecutive year, Steptoe has been named to the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) Gold Standard Certification List. The 2015 WILEF certification emphasizes the leadership roles achieved by equity women partners, rather than the policies or practices of the firm or the overall number or percentage of women in the partnership. This year, firms had to have 300 or more practicing lawyers in the United States to be eligible for the list, up from last year’s threshold of 200 lawyers. Firms also had to meet four of six criteria: Women had to account for at least 20 percent of equity partners; 10 percent of firm chairs and office heads; 20 percent of the top governance committee; 20 percent of the compensation committee; a quarter of practice group heads; and 10 percent of the top half of the firm’s most highly compensated partners.
