Insurance Practice Expansion Eyed

(January 5, 2004) -- Steptoe & Johnson has announced the addition of Angus Rodger as a new partner, to lead the insurance practice in the firm's London office.  Mr. Rodger handles both contentious and transactional insurance matters, and is a solicitor advocate.

Mr. Rodger's practice includes advising corporations and banks on the use of insurance as a part of their corporate and financial transactions as well as advising insurance companies.  He has drafted, negotiated and advised on a broad range of insurance policies, including directors & officers, export credit, fidelity, fine art, finite reinsurance, litigation buyout, organizational liability, political risk, product liability and professional indemnity.

Prior to joining Steptoe & Johnson, Mr. Rodger established and led the insurance/ finance convergence group in the London office of Clifford Chance.

Mr. Rodger has twelve years experience in insurance law.  He is the co-author of EC Insurance Law, a frequent contributor to insurance industry and legal publications, and a high-profile speaker at UK and international conferences.  He co-founded Commercial Conflicts of Law journal, and edited his former firm's Insurance Review publication.
