Overview
Law360 quoted Michael Dockterman in a July 11 article titled “5 Tasks That Are A Waste of Time For Partners.” The article discusses time-wasting tasks partners should avoid to concentrate on the interests of their clients, their firms, and their careers.
In one example, Mr. Dockterman says that a legal filing should be ready for a final read-through once it arrives on a partner’s desk and should not require edits. He says that far too often, partners have to wear out their red pens as they recompose briefs that are not ready for prime time. And these late-stage rewrites are prone to typos and misspelled names, which may catch the attention of judges and other legal readers and reflect badly on the firm's professionalism.
