Dick Cunningham Receives Henry T. King, Jr. Award

Steptoe partner Dick Cunningham has received the Canada-United States Law Institute’s Henry T. King, Jr. Award. Mr. Cunningham was presented with the award March 30 during an awards ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio.

The award was presented to Mr. Cunningham in recognition of his “inspired leadership, extraordinary efforts to foster Canada-United States relations, and exceptional contributions to the Canada-United States Law Institute.”

Mr. Cunningham has served on the executive committee for the Canada-United States Law Institute for more than 20 years. He has advised Canadian interests, such as the Canadian government for decades in high-profile matters, including the negotiation of the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement, major areas of trade dispute as wheat, softwood lumber and magnesium trade, and in successful international dispute resolution under NAFTA and the World Trade Organization.
