Overview
Steptoe’s “What Comes Next: Net Neutrality, Innovation, and the Future of Competition” panel discussion held May 31 at Galvanize in San Francisco was covered by Axios in a June 1 article titled “Net Neutrality Fight Falls to Startups.”
At the event, Federal Trade Commission Commissioner Terrell McSweeny and Steptoe’s Jon Sallet, former Federal Communications Commission (FCC) general counsel, urged startups at Galvanize’s co-working space to file comments at the FCC to help explain to policymakers where technology is headed and why net neutrality is necessary for self-driving cars or the Internet of Things to work properly.
Mr. Sallet said: “The most important thing is for people who have genuine experiences to write in. There is expertise in the startup community about what it takes to bring innovation to consumers that I don't think can be found elsewhere."
