(September 11, 2007, Los Angeles, CA) – Robbin L. Itkin, a
partner residing in the Century City office of international law firm Steptoe
& Johnson LLP, and member of the firm's Business Solutions Group, is the
2007 recipient of two highly competitive awards. She was recently named to the
prestigious Los Angeles Business Journal’s list of “Who’s Who in L.A. Law” for
2007, and just days later earned coveted recognition as one of the Century City
Chamber of Commerce’s 2007 Women of Achievement.
“Robbin is an amazing
and dynamic attorney,” said Roger Warin, Steptoe’s Chairman. “Her successful
performance not only earns her heartfelt accolades from her clients and peers at
the firm but her work is also consistently recognized by external organizations
as outstanding in every way. We congratulate her on earning these two
additional and exceptionally well-deserved awards for her high-level practice
skills and consistent community contributions.”
Ms. Itkin is one of just
12 attorneys selected for this year’s Transactions and Corporate Law category by
the Los Angeles Business Journal, and one of only seven chosen as a “Woman of
Achievement” by the Chamber of Commerce. The two newest honors follow on the
heels of her recent selection as a Top 50 Southern California Women Attorney for
2007 by Los Angeles Magazine, and her selection as a 2007 Southern California
Super Lawyer by the same publication; the third consecutive year she has earned
this distinctive recognition.
Ms. Itkin is a member of Steptoe’s
restructuring group, an interdisciplinary team involved in litigation,
restructuring and insolvency matters arising from all industries, including the
subprime lending meltdown and softening real estate market. Her practice
includes representation of debtors, creditors’, equity and bondholders’
committees, purchasers and trustees in corporate restructurings and bankruptcies
in a wide variety of industries, including entertainment, retail,
transportation, and hospitality, and advises high profile individuals and
corporations in out-of-court workouts and financial transactions.
A 1984
graduate of the University of Southern California Law School, Ms. Itkin is
extensively involved in a range of pro bono and community activities. In June
2007, she was named Director Emeritus after a decade of service on the Board of
the City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute. She
has been a member of the Board and served as President of the City of Hope Inner
Circle, as well as serving on the Boards of the Women’s Leadership Council and
the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles. Ms. Itkin is a former
recipient of the B’nai Zion Foundation’s Women of Accomplishment
award.
Now serving as Vice-Chair for the Lawyers' Representative
Coordinating Committee for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, just
completing her service as Co-Chair of the Central District of California Lawyer
Representatives, Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, Ms. Itkin also serves as a
mediator for the Central District of California Bankruptcy Court, and publishes
and presents regularly to professional audiences.
The list of attorneys recognized as “Who’s Who In L.A. Law” for 2007 was published in the August 20 edition of the Los Angeles Business Journal. Ms. Itkin will be honored by the Century City Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council at the 2007 Women of Achievement awards presentation on October 17, 2007, at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
