Steptoe Leads $200 Million Closing
February 21, 2006Steptoe was lead counsel on the acquisition, securities offering, US aspects of a major loan refinancing, worldwide competition clearances, and related matters for Stratos, a leading provider of mobile and remote communications services.
The team completed the acquisition of Xantic, a Dutch company, for approximately $200 million and a Section 144A high-yield notes deal that should lead to Stratos' first US public securities offering.
Xantic was the third largest provider to satellite telecommunications giant Inmarsat. Stratos now accounts for 44% of Inmarsat's mobile satellite telecommunications revenue, and has increased its presence in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
