Guy Soussan Joins Brussels Office

(1st February 2006, Brussels, Belgium)—Steptoe & Johnson LLP today announces that Guy Soussan has joined its Brussels office as partner focusing on advice to clients in the EU and broader cross-border insurance markets.

Guy Soussan's practice encompasses advice on EU insurance regulatory and compliance issues for insurers, reinsurers, captives, intermediaries and other financial sector entities in all classes of insurance and reinsurance (life, health, property and casualty, etc.).  He represents national associations of insurers and leading international financial groups pursuing a pan-European expansion strategy.

Guy has 18 years' experience in the field of EU insurance law.  Prior to joining Steptoe, Guy established and led the EU insurance regulatory practice in the Brussels office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae. He is a member of the Paris and Brussels Bars.

He maintains close contacts with the European institutions and national supervisory authorities and is a frequent contributor to insurance industry and legal publications and a regular speaker at international conferences.
