Six Steptoe Attorneys Named Top Lawyers by Washingtonian

(December 1, 2009 Washington, DC) – Steptoe & Johnson LLP, a leading international law firm, today announced that six attorneys have been named Top Lawyers by Washingtonian magazine. Reid H. Weingarten has been selected as one of “30 Stars of the Bar,” recognizing Washington’s “top gun” attorneys. Washingtonian notes that Mr. Weingarten, who appears at the number nine spot on the list, is known for representing politicians, celebrities, CEOs, and other high-profile figures facing criminal investigations. The magazine states, “He loves to go to trial and can work wonders in front of a jury.” 

Washingtonian also recognized the top 1% of lawyers in Washington, naming six Steptoe attorneys to this elite list. Steptoe has three attorneys selected as top criminal defenders: Brian Heberlig, Mark Hulkower, and Mr. Weingarten. Stewart Baker is named a top national security attorney, Mark Silverman is recommended to help companies navigate complex tax issues, and Mark Moran is recognized as a globetrotting international lawyer.
