The Arizona Republic Quotes David Bodney on the First Amendment and Open Meetings Law

David Bodney was quoted in The Arizona Republic in an article titled “Group: Speech Restrictions Are Not Legal,” which examined two Arizona municipalities’ decisions to censor public speech at council meetings this month. Mr. Bodney said “The limitation on a citizen's right to discuss the wisdom of a tax increase, for example, contravenes not only the person's First Amendment right, but the essence of the Open Meeting Law.”
