Scripps Howard News Service Quotes Stewart Baker on TSA Security Proposals

Stewart Baker was quoted by Scripps Howard News Service in an article titled “Private Planes, Airports Face Less Security Scrutiny, Critics Say.” The article examined private airport and general aviation regulations in light of the February 18 crash of a small plane into an Austin, TX IRS building. The TSA recently scaled back a proposed security program for general aviation aircraft. Mr. Baker, former assistant secretary for policy at Homeland Security, said “Small planes—very small planes—can do a lot of damage. We ought to use this opportunity to reconsider whether we want to water those rules down.”
