Tom Holt Joins Steptoe & Johnson LLP’s Intellectual Property Practice

Continues Growth of Steptoe’s Chicago Office
July 13, 2010

(July 13, 2010, Washington, DC, & Chicago) – International law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP today announced that noted intellectual property attorney Thomas L. Holt has joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office.

“Tom Holt is an ideal fit for Steptoe’s Intellectual Property practice,” said Alfred Mamlet, leader of the firm’s IP Group. “He will help us expand our national IP practice from the Midwest. Tom’s strong trademark litigation and counseling practice will benefit Steptoe’s clients by providing a great complement to the team we have in place on both coasts.”

A veteran practitioner of trademark, trade dress, copyright, false advertising, and patent law, Mr. Holt is well–versed in all components of federal court litigation. He comes to Steptoe from Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione.

“Steptoe’s international reach and its commitment to continuing the growth of both its IP practice and the Chicago office are among the many reasons I am joining the firm,” said Mr. Holt. “The most important factor, however, is the firm’s culture which fosters strong client relationships and client service. I look forward to helping grow the Chicago office and to working with the firm’s diverse client base.”

A graduate of Chicago’s Loyola University School of Law, Mr. Holt is admitted to the Bar in Illinois and in the District of Columbia.
