(A Steptoe-Sponsored Event)September 21, 2004
While most provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act do not directly apply to nonprofits, they are having an unprecedented effect on nonprofits’ governance. This session will cover the Act’s provisions and other developments that relate to good governance.
Speakers include Suzanne Ross McDowell, whose practice focuses primarily on using her 20 years of experience of working with nonprofit organizations to meet the legal needs of tax-exempt organizations, and Randal T. Evans, who advises tax-exempt organizations on obtaining exempt status and addressing unrelated business income, lobbying and political activities, charitable giving, and managing business activities.
