ISSA's Green Cleaning Forum

Seth Goldberg spoke at ISSA's Green Cleaning Forum on April 14, 2009, in Arlington, VA. The conference focused on the current state of the growing market for green cleaning. Mr. Goldberg discussed "Green Claims for Disinfectants and Sanitizers". Historically, the EPA Office of Pesticide Programs has prohibited claims related to environmental preferability or safety and health in relation to all EPA registered pesticide products. Now the Agency is exploring the possibility of establishing a policy that would allow the use of “green” claims made in relation to institutional disinfectants and sanitizers. The session brought attendees up to date on the potential for the Agency to adopt such a policy and address the evolving conceptual framework.
