"Recent Trials" and "Prosecution of Attorneys in Connection with Providing Legal Advice," 26th Annual National Institute on White-Collar Crime ConferenceMarch 1, 2012
Reid Weingarten will speak on two panels at the American Bar Association (ABA) Criminal Justice Section’s 26th Annual National Institute on White-Collar Crime Conference in Miami Beach, Florida.
On March 1st, Mr. Weingarten will participate on a panel titled "Recent Trials." Speakers will address some of the critical issues and strategies confronted during the investigation, following indictment, and during trial in several high visibility cases during the past year. Mr. Weingarten will discuss the Stevens (FDA) matter.
On March 2nd, Mr. Weingarten will discuss the topic "Prosecution of Attorneys in Connection with Providing Legal Advice." Panelists will explore the recent prosecution of the associate general counsel of GlaxoSmithKline and other related investigations and prosecutions of attorneys with respect to the advice they provided, including the challenges of serving as an in-house counsel in a justice system with so many criminal statutes and regulations.
