WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Corporate HR professionals and in-house counsel are invited to attend Steptoe’s 10th Annual Labor Relations Conference co-sponsored by the Arizona Society for Human Resource Management (AZSHRM) and AzBusiness Magazine. This seminar will provide an update on NLRA, legislative, and judicial developments in the field of labor relations. By popular demand, the conference returns to a two-day format, with Thursday’s session focusing on basic labor law training – a great introduction or refresher for front-line supervisors and labor relations managers. The full-day session on Friday includes panel and individual presentations on union-backed “affiliate” community organizations; employer rules on at-will employment, arbitration, confidentiality, dress code, and non-disparagement; facially neutral policies that violate the NLRA; video, social media, and other surveillance issues under the NLRA; the rights of off-duty and off-site employees; and the most important decisions of the NLRB in the past year and how the “recess” appointment issue affects those decisions.
