Chuck Cole, Alice Loughran Speak at National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel Winter Meeting
March 5, 2007On March 5, 2007, Chuck Cole gave a presentation at the winter meeting of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel in Sea Island, Georgia. He spoke on "Post-Trial Motions and the Preservation of Error for Appeal."
On March 7, 2007, Alice Loughran spoke on the implications of the recent Supreme Court decision, Sorrell, in a presentation, "Can Sorrell Play a Part, No Matter How Small, in Limiting Rogers?" Sorrell may provide a way for railroad lawyers to deal with another well-known Supreme Court dictum to the effect that railroad negligence, "no matter how small," can give rise to liability under the FELA. Ms. Loughran was also a program chair for this meeting.
