Frank Burke Co-Chairs, Speaks at E-Discovery Conference

Frank Burke of the Phoenix office is co-chairing the Ninth Annual Electronic Discovery & Records Retention Conference, held November 17-18, 2005, in New York City.

He is also speaking on three panels:

  • Document Retention and the Corporate Compliance Program: Keeping the Regulators at Bay—how an effective document retention and training policy can support a successful compliance and training program under the recently amended Organizational Sentencing Guidelines and evolving state law fiduciary standards; document retention developments under the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 including the Section 404 internal control standards; and recent document retention trends in regulatory rules being applied to broker dealers, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare providers.
  • It's 2 a.m.: Do You Know Where Your Data Is?— data security and privacy issues, including information security and privacy legal framework and sources of liability; and how to protect against security breaches and avoid liability. Michael Vatis of the New York office will also appear on this panel.
  • Judges Panel: The Latest and Greatest—roundtable discussion regarding recent electronic discovery case law, how to avoid sanctions, and the civil discovery rules amendments approved by the Standing Committee and currently under review by the Judicial Conference.

This conference is also being held December 8–9, 2005, in San Francisco.
