Patent Rights in India and China - IPO Conference

On Tuesday, June 12, 2007, Charles Schill spoke at an IPO Education Foundation Conference on Patent Rights in India and China. In his role representing the Defendant in a mock argument before a Judicial Panel consisting of the Honorable Randall R. Rader (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit), the Honorable M.K. Sharma (Delhi High Court) and the Honorable Ou Xiuping (Third Civil (IPR) Division of the High People’s Court of Guangdong Province), Mr. Schill argued a mock patent case against an attorney representing the Plaintiff in order to introduce the complexities of patent liltigation in the U.S. and how various factual and legal determinations are made under the law by judges in each of the three countries.  The conference took place in Washington, DC and addressed the patent systems in China and India from both patent creation and enforcement perspectives.
