REACH in Practice: Lessons Learned

Steptoe's REACH team hosted a webcast on 9 July 2008 from 1600-1730 CET (1000-1130 EST) for the third in a series of webcasts on the new European chemicals regulation (REACH).  Lawyers and technical consultants in our team provided insights on the pre-registration process, which started on 1 June.  We also provided analysis on the latest technical guidance documents issued by the ECHA.  Important changes in existing guidance – particularly concerning the use of an Only Representative – were explained as well.  

Our webcast addressed several issues, including:

• Latest guidance (including on articles)
• Key changes to “Only Representative” rules
• The price of non-compliance
