REACH Beyond Pre-registration

Steptoe’s REACH team hosted a webcast on 9 December 2008 from 1600-1730 CET (1000-1130 EST) for the fourth in a series of webcasts on the new European chemicals regulation (REACH).  Our experienced REACH team was joined by guest speaker Malachy Hargadon, Environment Counselor, Delegation of the European Commission to the United States to discuss the European Commission's perspective of the pre-registration process.

Our webcast addressed several other issues, including:

• Steptoe's experience with the pre-registration process on behalf of its clients;
• What to do if a company or its supplier has missed the pre-registration deadline;
• Supply chain communication and documentation with regard to REACH; and
• Next steps during the pre-SIEF period.

As in all previous webcasts, we provided answers to every question submitted during the presentation either during the webcast or in writing thereafter.
