Government Contracts
Our government contracts clients cover a broad spectrum: aerospace and defense, engineering and construction, information technology, communications, commercial items, electric power and energy conservation, services, research and development, natural resources, and health care providers and fiscal intermediaries. We advise domestic and foreign profit, nonprofit, and governmental organizations.
Lawyers in this practice area are experienced in all types of litigation, including bid protests, claims, appeals, subcontractor disputes, fraud proceedings, and Freedom of Information Act and Trade Secrets Act actions. Our attorneys are also experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques.
We counsel our contractor clients on a full range of issues, including cost allowability and cost accounting, defective pricing, contract financing, debt collection, fiscal laws, outsourcing, procurement integrity, ethics, organizational conflicts of interest, Multiple Award Schedule and task and delivery order contracts, foreign commercial and military sales, licensing and data rights and transfers, performance-based contracting, antitrust, national security, teaming, joint ventures, and procurement reform.
The founder of our government contracts practice, Robert D. Wallick practiced in this field for over 30 years. He is a past Chair of the ABA Section of Public Contract Law, past President of the Federal Circuit Bar Association, and was one of only three private practitioners on the Advisory Panel on Streamlining and Codifying Acquisition Laws. This "Section 800" Panel's comprehensive recommendations for legal reform were substantially enacted into law as the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994 (Pub. L. No. 103-355).
