Our patent attorneys have practical and legal experience advising and counseling clients in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering in industry and academics. Our work has included projects in the fields of organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, catalysis, organometallic chemistry, fuel and petrochemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, semiconductor fabrication, reactor design, process control, thermochemistry, polymer processing, polymer chemistry, and separation technology. We have focused both on the procurement of patents as well as their potentiality for enforcement.

In particular, we have substantial experience in the following areas:

• provision of patent clearance/freedom-to-operate opinions relating to chemical and biologics processing plant designs;
• provision of strategic counseling advice to build patent portfolios for emerging companies;
• development and management of patent portfolios in the United States and abroad relating to core technologies of academic researchers;
• creation of intellectual property protection programs for renewable energy and waste water management companies;
• establishment of patent development program for polymer processing and optical lens manufacturing companies; and
• provision of patent invalidity and noninfringement opinions relating to formulations and manufacturing methodologies.
