Sajid is an associate in the London office of Steptoe & Johnson and is a member of the firm’s International Group. He advises on European and international trade and regulatory issues, including WTO matters.

Sajid has experience in all aspects of European trade law including trade remedy cases (anti-dumping and anti-subsidy), the trade barriers regulation complaint, customs law, export control, and sanctions regime.  More recently, he has also represented clients at the European Court of First Instance concerning breaches of EU law committed by European institutions. 

In terms of non-EU trade remedy matters, Sajid has participated in proceedings in India, Turkey and the United States.  He has also advised multi-national companies on how to protect their interests in various bilateral, regional and preferential trading negotiations and has also provided counsel to clients on the WTO GATS agreement and the WTO TRIPS agreement. 

Sajid also focuses on India related matters. He has worked on Indian legal issues since the late 1990s and has also worked closely with Indian government trade officials.
