Caroline Gaudet is a partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she is a member of the Corporate, Securities, and Finance practice group and the Regulatory & Industry Affairs Department. She handles a wide range of commercial transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, and sales and contract issues.

Energy Transactions
Ms. Gaudet represents pipeline carriers and electric power companies in a variety of transactional matters.  Her experience includes the structuring and documenting of pipeline-related transactions, joint ventures between electric power companies, the acquisition of nuclear and fossil fuel power plants, and the sale of turbines and associated service agreements.  Her clients in these matters include both domestic and foreign entities.

Joint Ventures
Ms. Gaudet has significant experience in establishing joint ventures in a variety of industries as well as structuring and negotiating the dissolution of ventures or partnerships where significant disputes have arisen.

Commercial Real Estate
Ms. Gaudet handles commercial real estate transactions, including the sale and acquisition of office, retail and apartment buildings, hotels, mixed-use properties and undeveloped land, the representation of landlords and tenants in the leasing and subleasing of commercial space, and the negotiation of construction-related contracts.

Before coming to the United States, Ms. Gaudet practiced law in London and Nairobi.
