Catherine M. Giovannoni is of counsel with the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she is a member of the Regulatory & Industry Affairs Department. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Giovannoni worked in the field of education.
Energy Law
Ms. Giovannoni counsels clients about a broad range of issues affecting the electric industry. The electric industry is changing rapidly; electric utilities face a shifting regulatory environment at both the state and federal level. Ms. Giovannoni has significant experience assisting clients who are faced with compliance issues in this rapidly changing environment. She regularly advises clients on ISO and RTO issues. She also handles traditional rate and licensing issues before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and state public utility commissions.
