Susan Koegel is special counsel in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, and a member of the Technology Department and the Intellectual Property group. She concentrates on intellectual property litigation.
Dr. Koegel's intellectual property litigation practice focuses primarily on patent litigation, including Hatch-Waxman matters, in federal district court and on unfair trade practice cases under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 at the US International Trade Commission. She also represents individuals and corporations in trade secret disputes and unfair business practices actions. Her experience includes first chair jury trials and first chair federal court arbitration.
Dr. Koegel's chemical and biotech practice includes litigation, client counseling, opinions, and patent prosecution in all areas of chemistry, medical devices, nutritional supplements, animal health products, and biotechnology. She is also a practicing veterinarian with particular experience in the Animal Welfare Act.
