Ellen Kohn is of counsel in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she is a member of the Business Solutions and Litigation Departments.  She has practiced in the employee benefits area for almost twenty years.

Ms. Kohn advises clients on the entire range of issues affecting tax-qualified pension plans, welfare plans and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements.   She has assisted tax-exempt organizations, state and local government plans, and private employers.  Ms. Kohn also has significant experience advising small and medium sized corporations and partnerships in structuring sophisticated pension programs.  In addition, she has assisted employers and service providers in correcting plan errors under the Internal Revenue Service's employee plans compliance resolution system.

Prior to practicing in the employee benefits area, Ms. Kohn represented clients in ERISA and employment discrimination litigation.
