Mike Bergeron is of counsel in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Litigation Department. Mr. Bergeron is a senior supervisory member of the national trial and coordinating counsel team for a major client's asbestos, silica, and welding rod litigation. He is also director of Steptoe's Construction Mediation Practice and operations director of the firm's Complex Litigation and Discovery Center.

Mr. Bergeron brings over 30 years of in-house corporate, law firm, and military experience. He has advised and counseled numerous companies, spanning many industries including construction, telecom, and transportation on a variety of critical business and legal matters.

Litigation
Mr. Bergeron has managed more than 100 lawsuits and arbitrations and handled many Dispute Review Board presentations and mediations. As in-house counsel, Mr. Bergeron has managed all phases of litigation, arbitration, and mediation including claim preparation, presentation, and defense. He has extensive experience litigating construction claims, handling risk analyses, and providing advice on labor, employment, and safety issues.

Corporate Counseling & Contracts
Mr. Bergeron has provided general corporate and contract counsel including writing, evaluating, and negotiating public and private contracts. He brings an added advantage as he has managed heavy building construction projects and has directed and supervised business and project development.

In the Air Force, Mr. Bergeron advised on more than 300 contracts when he served as Luke Air Force Base Chief of Civil Law. Many of these contracts involved renovating and expanding the world's largest Air Combat Command fighter training base.
