Complex Commercial Litigation
Mr. Stahl's practice of more than 30 years focuses primarily on the litigation, negotiation, arbitration, and mediation of complex commercial disputes and torts. His cases have involved a wide range of legal applications from those concerning federal securities, racketeering, products liability laws, and constitutional challenges to those involving state contract, tort, officer and director liability, corporate control, and consumer issues.

Mr. Stahl has handled numerous trials and appellate proceedings in many federal and state courts, and in international arbitral forums around the world. For example, he was recently lead trial and appellate counsel for a major US corporation in obtaining a $2.1 billion fraud verdict in the Southern District of New York against a number of individuals from Turkey. Mr. Stahl implemented a multipronged strategy that defeated defendants’ efforts to derail the case via arbitration demands and the institution of judicial proceedings in Turkish courts and elsewhere. The verdict was recently affirmed by the Second Circuit and the US Supreme Court.

Mr. Stahl also has substantial experience and practices often in areas involving transactional business matters, contract negotiations, and post-default contract restructurings.
