Virginia L. White-Mahaffey is a partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she is a member of the Litigation Department. She appears regularly in federal and state courts in numerous jurisdictions, and also represents clients in mediation and complex settlement negotiations. In addition, she handles both federal and state court appeals.
Ms. White-Mahaffey has represented insurance companies in complex coverage matters for over twenty years. She has served as counsel in litigation involving CGL, property, and D&O policies, as well as more specialized insurance products. She has acquired significant experience in defending and advising insurers in coverage matters involving such issues as environmental pollution, asbestos, lead, other toxic torts, and business interruption claims.
Ms. White-Mahaffey’s other experience spans a wide range of commercial disputes, including contract disputes, fraud and RICO allegations, employment litigation, shareholder actions, and antitrust suits.
