Neil Ellis is a partner in the London office of Steptoe & Johnson, where he is a member of the firm's Insurance group.  Mr. Ellis comes to the firm with more than 25 years of experience as an insurance and reinsurance solicitor.

Prior to joining Steptoe, Mr. Ellis was a partner in the London office of a prominent UK and international law firm.  He has devoted his practice to the insurance and reinsurance arenas, acting mainly for international insurance and reinsurance companies and Lloyd’s syndicates, both live and in run off. Over the years, Mr. Ellis has gained considerable experience in court proceedings, arbitrations and mediations, as well as in the drafting of complex insurance and reinsurance contract wordings.

Mr. Ellis has also worked extensively with insurance insolvency teams on developing Schemes of Arrangement (solvent and insolvent).  He has spoken at conferences both in London and the United States, written various articles and contributed to a market handbook on the subject of inspection of records.
