Marshall Leopold is a partner in the London office of Steptoe & Johnson, and a member of the Corporate, Securities and Finance practice group.  He was formerly head of the corporate team at Olswang’s Thames Valley office.  Prior to that, he was head of the corporate team at Andersen Legal in the Thames Valley, having previously headed the corporate team at Shoosmiths & Harrison in that region.

Marshall has over 20 years of experience in major corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance work both in the United Kingdom and internationally.  His commercial experience extends into joint ventures, asset purchases and disposals, PFI projects as well as all commercial trading agreements and structures.  He has developed a significant practice assisting early stage technology companies to raise funds and grow value for their shareholders.  He has lectured and written on many aspects of corporate and commercial matters and has been recognised by both the Legal 500 and Chambers for significant experience in his field.  He has also previously been named as one of The Lawyer magazine’s “Hot 100.” 

Marshall is Chairman of Innovate Thames Valley and is a Director of the Thames Valley Economic Partnership, a public/private entity formed with government funding and support to encourage and oversee the continued growth of one of the UK’s most vibrant business regions.

He also sits on the Board of a number of charities, including a Quaker School and Community Enterprise Company encouraging people lost from the workforce back into the employed community.
