Daniel Blakey is a partner and civil trial lawyer in the firm's Los Angeles office.  He is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and its Toxic Tort Practice Group.  His practice focuses on defending petroleum, chemical and pesticide manufacturers in personal injury, property damage and wrongful death actions.  He has been admitted pro hac vice in numerous jurisdictions.

Much of Mr. Blakey’s work involves multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases in which numerous chemicals and products are at issue.  Many of these cases arise in the context of a claimed employment related injury; others involve allegations of personal injury as a consequence of an environmental release.  Mr. Blakey frequently works with environmental consultants and with experts in a variety of disciplines including medicine, toxicology and epidemiology.  He is often involved in negotiating and implementing Case Management Orders that govern the discovery process leading to trial.  He has principal responsibilities for coordinating discovery in complex litigation, including fact acquisition, expert witness retention and preparation, motion practice and adverse expert witness depositions.

In addition to toxic tort and environmental litigation, Mr. Blakey has substantial experience in commercial disputes, including matters involving the transportation industry.
