Meredith M. Moss is a partner in the Century City office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP.  Her practice emphasizes employment counseling and business litigation matters, including employment, unfair competition, intellectual property, bankruptcy, entertainment, and other commercial disputes.  She has represented large national and multinational corporations, entertainment production companies, manufacturing and technology companies, and high-net worth individuals.

Ms. Moss’s practice encompasses all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts, as well as appellate work and pre-litigation counseling.  She has represented employers and employees before administrative agencies, and has conducted training sessions for corporate employers on employment issues.  Ms. Moss also has experience in alternative dispute resolution proceedings such as mediations and arbitrations.

Ms. Moss recently received the ACLU Foundation’s Pro Bono Civil Rights Award in recognition of her work for the Plaintiffs in the Harris v. Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors lawsuit, in which the Ninth Circuit upheld a preliminary injunction prohibiting the County of Los Angeles from reducing the hospital services available to the County’s indigent residents at County-USC Medical Center and from closing the famous Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center.  In 2004 and 2005, she was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Law & Politics and the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine.
