Laura Atlee is an associate in the Brussels office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP. Her practice focuses on EU competition law.
Ms. Atlee represents both European and foreign businesses before the European Commission in relation to antitrust violations (including cartels and abuses of monopoly position). She also helps clients obtain clearance for proposed mergers, acquisitions, and other forms of concentration of undertakings.
Ms. Atlee has worked with clients across a range of sectors including steel, utilities, industrial lifting devices, software, and airfreight services.
Representative Matters
- Advising Japan Airlines in relation to the creation of a joint venture with BA on Europe/Japan destinations.
- Representing Japan Airlines in the EC probe into international passenger services between Europe and Japan.
- Advising European and global companies in ongoing cartel investigations in the EU.
- Representing a French-based engineering group as complainant in the EC abuse of dominant position investigation against a global mining conglomerate.
- Acting for an Asian airline in the Commission’s investigation into price-fixing in the air cargo sector.
- Advising a major European energy and heating conglomerate in relation to national and multi-jurisdictional merger filings.
- Advising an international steel producer on antitrust compliance and mergers.
