Rhonda M. Bolton is of counsel in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she is a member of the Technology Department. Ms. Bolton's practice focuses on telecommunications and technology law.

Ms. Bolton primarily represents clients who provide satellite, telephone, and wireless telecommunications services, advising them on a wide range of issues related to government regulation of telecommunications services as well as general commercial matters. Ms. Bolton's practice also entails advocacy on behalf of telecommunications and technology companies before the Federal Communications Commission, Congress, federal courts, and arbitration panels. Ms. Bolton's FCC experience includes numerous rulemaking, complaint, and licensing proceedings related to regulation of Direct Broadcast Satellite services. Ms. Bolton counsels clients in telecommunications transactions as well.

Ms. Bolton's regulatory experience extends to matters concerning the regulation of interstate transportation and energy industries. She also has extensive general litigation experience and has been involved in defending high-profile federal criminal prosecutions of government officials charged with official misconduct.

Prior to embarking on a legal career, Ms. Bolton served as a legislative assistant to a US Congressman and was substantially involved in shaping and monitoring legislation related to federal agriculture, defense, education, and labor programs.
