William Bosch is a partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Litigation, Technology,  Business Solutions, and International Departments.  He concentrates his practice on complex litigation, with a particular emphasis on issues involving commercial disputes and intellectual property.

Mr. Bosch has successfully litigated cases on behalf of his clients in state and federal courts throughout the country, both at the trial and appellate levels, and also has handled numerous matters through alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.

Given his extensive background in commercial and intellectual property disputes, Mr. Bosch regularly handles varied issues, including many that involve allegations of breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, civil RICO, IP infringement (patent, copyright, and trademark), trade secret misappropriation, false advertising, or unfair competition.  His experience in these diverse substantive areas lends itself to formulating creative and effective dispute resolution strategies for a broad array of commercial concerns, including property owners, on-line marketplaces, financial services companies, high-tech and general research, development and manufacturing outfits, and consumer products companies.

Mr. Bosch's intellectual property representations include:  

• Currently representing the leading VoIP provider in a dispute involving seven patents.  
• Represented one of the most widely recognized e-commerce companies in its worldwide trademark and domain name enforcement efforts.
• Litigated the rejection of a trademark license in bankruptcy for a leading battery manufacturer.
• Advised a major on-line travel website regarding trade secret misappropriation claims.
• Handled copyright and licensing matters for a leading toy company. 
• Litigated patent and trade secret claims on behalf of a manufacturer of building supplies.
• Litigated patent ownership dispute involving video-on-demand technology.
• Litigated trademark and trade dress infringement claims on behalf of distributor of specialty food products.
