Adam Ellsworth is an associate in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Intellectual Property group. Mr. Ellsworth’s practice focuses on patent litigation, patent prosecution, patentability analysis, and patent infringement/invalidity opinions. His pro bono activities include mediating disputes for low-income residents in Maryland and helping victims of human trafficking and asylum applicants in immigration and civil proceedings.
Mr. Ellsworth’s experience includes litigation in federal courts and representing clients before the Patent and Trademark Office.
Before joining as an associate, Mr. Ellsworth was a summer associate/contract patent agent at Steptoe's Washington, DC, office.
Before joining Steptoe, Mr. Ellsworth worked as a mediator for the California Academy of Mediation Professionals and Center for Conflict Resolution in cases involving employment, contract, personal in jury, and landlord/tenant disputes and temporary restraining order cases for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
In addition, he completed an engineering externship in Mannheim, Germany, at HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH, where he designed and built digital circuitry.
