Sarah R. Lamoree is an associate in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP where she is a member of the International and Litigation Departments.
As part of the International Regulation & Compliance Practice, she helps companies comply with US regulatory regimes, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and related anti-corruption laws. Ms. Lamoree has assisted in conducting internal investigations, compliance audits, and risk assessments for clients in Western Europe and Africa in a variety of industries including the oil services, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical industries. Ms. Lamoree has represented clients before enforcement agencies and bodies such as the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission. She also helps clients develop effective FCPA compliance strategies, including establishing internal policies and procedures.
In the international arbitration field, Ms. Lamoree has assisted in both investor-state and commercial arbitration proceedings.
Ms. Lamoree regularly assists in a variety of criminal and civil litigation matters involving complex factual and legal issues in both federal and state courts. She has experience in white-collar criminal defense, having worked on several complex cases involving securities and accounting fraud and bribery. Ms. Lamoree’s commercial litigation experience includes work on lawsuits involving RICO, fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and contract disputes.
Ms. Lamoree participates in Steptoe’s pro bono program, including representing a death-row inmate.
