Scott J. Vold is an associate in the Chicago office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice on financial services litigation and arbitration. Mr. Vold regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout the United States and in arbitration proceedings before the New York Stock Exchange and the National Association of Securities Dealers. He litigates all matters involving the financial services industry including those dealing with fraud, trade secrets, unfair business practices, regulatory compliance, breaches of fiduciary duties, and breaches of non-competition, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure agreements.
Prior to joining Steptoe, Mr. Vold represented both plaintiffs and defendants in consumer fraud class actions, civil RICO, products liability, toxic tort, the Carmack Amendment, and elder abuse cases. He also developed particular knowledge of epidemiology, immunology, pathology, and industrial hygiene.
Mr. Vold has substantial jury trial experience and is a published author and lecturer on emerging areas of toxic tort and environmental litigation.
