Andrew Perel is a partner in the New York office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Regulatory & Industry Affairs Department. Mr. Perel concentrates his practice primarily in environmental law, counseling clients on environmental compliance and due diligence and litigating complex environmental and environmental insurance coverage claims and disputes.

Mr. Perel represents financial institutions in hotel and hospitality transactions, real estate sales, acquisitions, development, and financings, as well as in commercial mortgage-backed securities transactions. He also counsels financial, real estate, insurance, corporate, hotel and hospitality, and individual clients on a broad range of regulatory and risk management and assessment matters.

Mr. Perel is a frequent author and lecturer on the topics of real estate structured finance and environmental law.
