Ambassador P. Robert Fannin is senior counsel in the Phoenix office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Business Solutions Department.  He will counsel clients during expansion into global markets, and offer valuable insight during their important transition.

Appointed by President Bush in 2007, Ambassador Fannin recently concluded his term as the US Ambassador to the Dominican Republic.  During his experience working with the US Government, Mr. Fannin assisted in achieving government objectives while coordinating its relations with commercial enterprises and foreign governments.  He will utilize the invaluable experiences he gained while serving as Ambassador to help navigate clients as they pursue global business opportunities.

Ambassador Fannin has served on the board of directors and executive committee of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce.  He also served as a director and officer of two financial institutions.  He was chairman of the Phoenix Open Golf Tournament (FBR Open) and served as Big Chief (President) of the Phoenix Thunderbirds, the special events committee of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.  He also served on committees under several Arizona governors, including the Governor’s Strategic Partnership for Economic Development, the Plan B Task Force (stadium financing) and Growing Smarter. As chairman and member of the Governor’s Motion Picture and Television Advisory Board, he actively promoted film and television production in Arizona.
