Ying Huang is a China counsel and International Government Affairs Senior Director in Steptoe's Washington office.  Ms. Huang has been working at Steptoe for ten years on US-China regulatory and government affairs matters after having practiced law in China for six years.  Ms. Huang’s practice focuses primarily on international trade remedies, government affairs, and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Huang’s experience provides Steptoe clients with advice and insight that bridge US-China cultural and legal differences.  She has a wide network of high-level regulatory contacts within a number of key Chinese government agencies and ministries.  Ms. Huang’s sophisticated understanding of the political and regulatory systems in China helps navigate clients through barriers to the Chinese market and is an integral part of Steptoe’s approach and successful track record in assisting clients to achieve their commercial goals.

Prior to joining Steptoe, Ms. Huang served as Senior Legal Counsel to the Shanghai office of a foreign law firm, where she provided legal advice to multinational corporations investing in China, designed optimal investment strategies, and participated in commercial negotiations regarding all aspects of foreign investment.  She has also handled trade matters for a large Chinese trading company and advised government officials regarding foreign investment regulatory policy.
